Scratch Moss
1865. Beneath Scratch Moss Hall lies a rich seam of coal - and something much darker.
Across five timelines, Scratch Moss follows a mining community haunted by the secrets buried beneath it. From the Victorian coalfields to the upheaval of nationalisation, the devastation of the 1980s and a homecoming in 2025, generations of residents encounter the same sinister presence: Red Clogs.
When divorced writer Joe returns to Scratch Moss for his father’s funeral, memories of his teenage years and the horror that blighted the community begin to resurface.
A chilling and atmospheric tale of folklore, community and the darkness lurking beneath ordinary lives.
